OPENING HOURS
Rainbows Early Childhood Centre have new extended hours. These are 8:00 - 4:30 Monday- Friday.
Parents can choose either All day or sessional hours. Minimum numbers of sessions do apply.
These hours are as follows...

• 8.00am - 4.30pm
• 8.30am - 4.30pm
• 8.30am - 12.30pm
• 8.30am - 1.30pm
• 8.30am - 3.30pm
A TYPICAL DAY IN PRESCHOOL
8:00 - 9:30: Children arrive at Rainbows and transition through self directed play where they can choose experiences in the indoor and outdoor environments.
9:15 - 9:45: Morning tea/kai time is a rolling meal time. Children are invited to come for morning tea in small groups in a more home life setting, where they develop self-help skills and independence.
9:45-11:00: Self directed play within the indoor and outdoor environments, where intentional teaching plans are offered.
11:00: Group/Hui time: Children are separated into small groups where the teachers' facilitates experiences that are relevant to their skills, development and interests. A school readiness program is offered for the older children.
12.00 - 12:15: Tidy up
12:15 - 12:30: Mat/Hui time where the children have bible stories, singing, sharing of news and goodbyes to the children going home.

12:30 - 13:00: Lunch/Kai time
13:00 - 13:30: Quiet activities such as books and puzzles.
13:30 - 3:00: Self directed play within the indoor and outdoor environments, where intentional teaching plans are offered.
15:00: Tidy up time
15:15: Mat time/Afternoon tea/ Kai time
15:30 - 16:30: Self directed play within the indoor and outdoor environments
